World Shibori Conference 2011
There was an international shibori conference that happened in Hong Kong in December 2011. For this confrence, Insiyah Shahpurwalla and I entered a garment in the new generation competition. For this, we created a royal blue jacket inspired by a peacock . This garment also embodies the grace, vibrance and elegance inherent in human beings. We used colours like turquoise blue, emerald green, ananda blue, magenta and violet which essentially create the colour palette associated with the majestic peacock.
This garment consisted of a jacket on the upper body and a trail comprising of 300 hand stitched shibori feathers that reached the floor.
